Is It Worth To Stay In Legoland Hotel? (not cheap)

Eusen has been obsessed with LEGO lately, and one day he was watching a LEGOLAND Hotel related videos on YouTube and asked: "Mommy can we go to Legoland and stay in the hotel?” 🥹
Only a 3 hours drive from Osaka, this would be a fun little trip for our family, especially for Eusen

We didn't read too much about the hotel before booking the trip. At first, we planned to visit the following week. However, when we checked the hotel rates, we were shocked to see the room selling for almost ¥100,000 a night. Since our dates were flexible, we looked at the following month instead and found the exact same room for around ¥42,000 per night

Needless to say, the price difference was crazy, so we booked it without thinking twice! Also this price is for hotel alone, not including the theme park ticket yet. At this point we were thinking: this better be worth cause we could have just skip the hotel and visit the theme park only, like most people do 😂

So if you're still debating. Keep reading cause we'll unpack the things we love, and didn't in this blog. And you can decide if it's worth it for you!

First Impression : LEGO Everywhere. It's Impressive!

The moment we arrived, it was clear that this hotel was designed entirely for children. From the lobby to the elevators, everything is LEGO-themed. There's already LEGO play stations scattered around the hotel for kids to start playing even before check-in. That's already a good start 😂
Of course Eusen was too!

We won't consider the hotel to be luxurious, with the amount we paid we could have gotten a better hotel in Japan, but for a themed-hotel, and how much fun it meant for our kid, we were satisfied

Our Room : Pirate-Themed Room 🏴‍☠️ We LOVE it!

Our room exceeded our expectation. From the comfort, design, attention to detail have make our stay and was definitely the highlight of the trip!

Most japanese hotel room can feel compact and small, not this. It's surprisingly spacious for family like ours. We love that it's a a room with seperate sleeping area, for parents and for kids

And what's the best part about the room you ask? Enough entertainment for kids to enjoy

Games. Puzzle. Lego show or movie. He already had so much fun without leaving his room, BONUS for us cause it means we also got plenty of time to rest. Best of both world

There was a treasure hunt waiting inside the room and Eusen had to solve simple clues to unlock a treasure box containing LEGO gifts. Honestly seeing how excited he was playing in his room made the stay so much more worth it for us

🏨 LEGOLAND Japan Hotel, Nagoya

Family Room: 2 adults + 1 child (4 years old)

Room Type: Pirate-themed Room

Stay Duration: 2 Nights

LEGOLAND Theme Park Tickets: Purchased separately
👉 Staying at LEGOLAND Hotel does *not* include discounted theme park tickets. We had to purchase our park tickets separately at regular price

What we have :

• A room with seperate sleeping area
• A king-size bed for parents, bunk bed for kids
• Both rooms have TV, bigger for parents and smaller for kids
• LEGO decorations throughout the room
• Pirate-themed design from floor to ceiling

Cost about ¥42,000 per night

Overall: good 👍

Hotel Facilities : Overall Great, But Only For Short Stay

Indoor Play Area

The hotel has an indoor LEGO-themed playground where children can climb, slide, and play. While it was nice to have, we felt it was relatively small compared to what we expected from a dedicated LEGO hotel. If you're staying multiple nights, kids may finish exploring it quite quickly. But for 1 night it's good enough

Swimming Pool

There's water slides, floating LEGO blocks and the basic tools you'd expect. So that's great

However, you must reserve a time slot in advance, and each session lasts only 30 minutes
For us, 30 minutes felt quite short, especially for children who are just getting comfortable in the water

We also read online reviews mentioning that some families were unable to secure pool reservations during busy periods. which could be disappointing since the hotel doesn't have too many activities

👉 If using the pool is important to your family, I would recommend booking your slot as early as possible

Breakfast

Don't expect fantastic 5-star buffets. The food was only decent, nothing too special about it

At least they have good selection of Japanese and Western options, so kids shouldn't have problem finding what they like

Location & Convenience

This should be the reason most family choose to stay here, convenience. Within minutes walking to Legoland park.

No rushing, no long commute to and back from the park, take a rest if you need at mid-day, and simply carry your kids back to the hotel after a tired day. SO EASY!

For us this is the biggest reason we love staying here!

What We Loved Most : LEGOLAND Japan (of course!)

We didn't think we would enjoy as much as we did. Mainly because we came on a weekday, not too much crowds and little waiting time. That really made it so much easier to enjoy the park compared to other larger theme parks we've been to

We felt the park was more suitable for younger kids from preschool to primary, many of the rides feel perfectly sized and less intimidating. So if you're concern about bringing your little ones here, we would say yes! don't be! Eusen had such a great time that he was already asking when we could come back before we even left 😂 In fact, we enjoyed the park so much that we purchased an annual pass and definitely plan to return again!

So Back To The Question... Is LEGOLAND Hotel Worth It?

My honest answer? It depends on who you're travelling for

For the adult, the facilities and breakfast alone probably wouldn't justify the price you're paying for

However, that's not really the point of this hotel. If you have kids, then it's different. This whole stay is an experience for them - The themed rooms, The treasure hunt, The LEGO decorations, The excitement of sleeping inside a LEGO world. Those are the memories kids remember

For us, the room itself was the biggest highlight, while the rest of the hotel experience was just okay

Would I stay again at ¥100,000 per night? Probably not.

Would I stay again at around ¥40,000–¥50,000 per night for a LEGO-obsessed child? Yes.
Because seeing Eusen's excitement throughout the trip is the whole point ❤️

👉 If your kid loves LEGO, the room experience alone can make the stay memorable. Just be sure to compare dates carefully, as room prices can vary dramatically throughout the year! And if your schedule is flexible, always pick weekday over weekend for less crowd

We hope our experience helped you in making the decision easier for you! Watch the video here 👇
